Gordon County Schools is introducing My Ride K-12, a parent communication app, to its transportation operations. My Ride K-12 will be integrated with our transportation software for families to access estimated times of arrival or departure for buses.
My Ride K-12 is designed so you can access your student’s bus schedules efficiently. GPS technology on the bus works with the district’s software to automatically calculate the timing of a bus route to give you the most accurate ETAs with real-time updates and route changes.
My Ride K-12 is now available for you to download on your Apple or Android mobile device. Our flyer provides step-by-step registration instructions, and you can access the app to download in a variety of ways. Scan the QR code on the flyer, follow the hyperlinks below, or search your app store for “My Ride K-12” to download and register your family on the app. Student bus route information will be available August 2nd on My Ride K-12.

It's the final Bud Bulletin of the year!

Parents and Guardians:
Summer is almost here! If learning slows down over the summer break, kids can lose some of the academic gains they made during the school year — what educators call the “summer slide.” This can be especially true for kids who are already struggling academically. Reading, writing, and learning over the summer can help keep your child’s skills sharp and be sure they are ready for the new school year in the fall. The link below is packed with great ideas to help your student stay engaged and mentally sharp this summer. Check it out!

The Calhoun-Gordon County Library has exciting events planned all summer long for their Summer Reading Program. They will have everything from magic shows to science shows and, of course, a reading challenge. So, keep those reading skills sharp and have some fun at the library this summer! Sign up begins May 20. https://ngrl.org/src2024/

The 2024 Gordon County Schools Summer Feeding Program starts June 3rd through July 18th! This program serves our community by providing no-cost, healthy meals and snacks to children ages 0-18. Food will be offered Monday through Thursday each week, and Thursdays will include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday meals. Please note that all sites will be closed July 4th and 5th.
Food pickup locations are at Tolbert Elementary and Sonoraville High School from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gordon County Schools will also have vans and buses delivering meals to our Mobile Locations marked with yard signs that read, "This is a Gordon County Summer Feeding Site." Listen for the honking horns as notification of arrival and please be patient as times will vary by each location. After the first week, we will announce more exact times for the Mobile Locations as our feeding staff workers learn and finalize their routes.
Check out the flyer for more information! The Gordon County Schools Nutrition Department, partnered with our Transportation Department, looks forward to serving families with nutritious meal options at no cost during the summer months.

The Gordon County 4-H JV LifeSmarts team just won the National Competition against Kansas. They also competed against Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas defeating all of those teams. All members were also members of the RBMS Academic Team. Please congratulate these students on being the first ever JV National LifeSmarts Champions-Jet Johnston, Emma Osmanovic, Preslie Parish, & Julio Rodriguez-Garcia.

This week at The Bud...

Parents and Guardians:
Will your student turn 15 over the summer? Do they also plan to get their learner's driving permit? If so, you will need a certificate of attendance from school. There will be no one on campus this summer to get this information, so plan ahead and request a certificate now! Scan the QR code and fill out the form. This is only for students who will turn 15 BEFORE next school year.
