Dear Gordon County Schools Families,
We are working closely with local agencies to monitor the potential impact of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Helene, which may affect our area later this week. While no schedule changes are expected at this time, if conditions require adjustments such as delays, early dismissals, or closures, we will promptly notify you through our communication channels.
We will keep you updated as decisions are made. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our school community.
Sincerely,
Gordon County Schools

Kiwanis Club of Calhoun-Gordon County celebrated their K-Kids Certificates of Recognition for outstanding student work in school and our community. Jayme Morgan, Gordon Central High School
Lily Holton, Sonoraville High School
Desirae Davidson, Red Bud Middle School
Blakely Bryant, Calhoun Primary School

Great job, students! Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The organization seeks to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

Red Bud Middle School chorus teacher Kayla Bowman had a classroom full of wonderful singing today! She's helping develop and grow the talent of these musical students. Fine arts are so important in our schools, and we love to see and hear them perform. #TogetherRBMS #TogetherGCS

The undefeated Lady Phoenix secured the #1 seed for the Region with a 2-1 win over Cartersville at The Bud last night! Jayda White pitched lights out, striking out 8. 4 hits were enough to get the runs needed across coming from Marley Hall, Kaylee Sitten (2 RBI), Gracie Robison, & Ellie Wofford.
In game 2, the Lady Phoenix came away with a 10-1 win!
Emma Grace Mitchell went the distance striking out 3 and giving up only 2 hits.
Offensively, 6 hits came from Kendall Lewis, Laiklee Watson, Kaitlyn Crow, Jaelen Watson, & EG Mitchell. Caylee Brock also had 2 RBIs.
Your Red Bud Lady Phoenix are back in action on Friday at Sonoraville High School to celebrate our 8th graders against Lakeview Middle, starting at 4:45. Go Phoenix!

It's a busy week at The Bud.

Red Bud Middle School PE teacher Blake Hilley taught students how to play "Warball," a fun new spin to your usual dodgeball games. If students hit the bowling pin in a team's area, the whole team is out! They were having... a ball! #TogetherWePlay #TogetherRBMS #TogetherGCS
