It's a busy week at The Bud.
Several members of the Red Bud Middle School Chorus combined with Ashworth Middle School Chorus on Sunday, September 17, to sing at the Roland Hayes Music Festival held at Trinity Baptist Church. We are proud of these students for "reaching beyond". Pictured are: Madeline Anglin, Chloe Duncan, Scarlett Spruell, Purity Busie, Sophia Cascio, Nic Dutton and Caroline Soesbe
The Scholastic Book Fair is here from now through September 22! The fair is open daily from 8:15-3:15 except for Friday when the fair will close at 1:00. Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school. This year, say goodbye to giving your kids crumpled bills and loose change...and hello to e-Wallet, a super-convenient, secure digital payment account, for the Scholastic Book Fair. Setting up a Wallet for your child empowers them to choose their own books and effortlessly check out during the Best. Week. Ever. at their school. And any leftover funds can be saved for future Fairs. Now, that's a win-win! Follow the RBMS Book Fair link below to setup an e-wallet today! Of course, we will still take cash and checks made payable to RBMS. If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/redbudmiddleschool
Check out the happenings at RBMS this week!
RBMS has a new outdoor classroom! Former RBMS student and current SHS 9th grader, Kaleb King, built the outdoor classroom for his Eagle Scout Project. King was responsible for designing, raising funds, assembling, and the installation of the classroom. Special shout outs go to Mr. Timms for his cooperation and willingness to support the project from the beginning and to Mr. Moore for continued support. We hope the new outdoor classroom will be used by RBMS students for many years to come!

RBMS parents/guardians,
Please use the link below to reserve a time for a brief conference on either the 9/13 or 9/14 Parent Conference Day. This is an opportunity for a brief, 15 minute discussion about your student's progress so far this school year. Our conferences will start every quarter hour (every 15 min) from 1:00 - 4:00 on these days. If you'd like to have a longer, more in-depth conference on a different day, please contact the homeroom teacher to make those arrangements. Because of our time frame, it is imperative that parents arrive to their scheduled conference a few minutes early.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

This week at The Bud...
The Be Pro Be Proud exhibit was on RBMS campus August 24, 2023 for 8th grade students to learn more about various skilled positions and careers. According to beprobeproudga.org, Be Pro Be Proud Georgia is changing the way technical careers and training are perceived. Through the engagement of students at their respective schools, Be Pro Be Proud Georgia introduces students to technical careers through virtual and augmented reality experiences. If students find they have aptitude and interest in pursuing their own technical career, Be Pro Be Proud Georgia will connect them with employers and training providers in need of their skillsets!
According to the Be Pro Be Proud staff, our 8th grade RBMS students were some of the best behaved and most engaged students they've worked with in the state. Parents and guardians, please take a few moments to brag on your student for their behavior during this event, and also take some time to ask him or her about their experience and what careers they may be interested in.
8th Grade Parents,
There will be a parent meeting, Tuesday, August 29th in the RBMS cafeteria at 6:30pm for students who interested in going on the 8th grade Georgia Tour in April. 8th grade students received information about the GA Tour today in class. If you have any questions, you can e-mail your child’s Social Studies teacher.
Parents: If you haven't already, please take a moment to register your student to help us meet our goal! Our deadline is Friday! Every little bit helps! With your help, we will be raising $15,000 to fund programs that benefit all of our students. We are asking every student to REGISTER & SHARE with 10 or more supporters to reach our group goal! We are counting on these funds for the benefit of every child. This funding does not come from other sources so your participation, at any level, is critical. Thank you for your support!
Make sure to play the Register. Share. Win. Game after you create your account.

🚍 It's back-to-school season, and that means it's time to brush up on school bus safety! Let's ensure our kids have a safe and enjoyable journey to school every day. 🎒📚
SCHOOL BUS SAFETY TIPS - AT THE BUS STOP:
•Arrive at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to come.
•Wait at the bus stop in a safe place, 12 feet away from the road.
•Wait in an orderly group: Form an orderly line as the bus approaches, with the first student in line standing 12 feet away from traffic.
•If you miss the bus, return home and get help or phone a parent/guardian for assistance
•NEVER chase after the bus.
•NEVER wear headphones/ear buds or hoodies while loading or unloading the bus: the driver needs to be able to make eye contact and communicate.
•NEVER walk or drive to another bus stop:your bus driver will not be expecting you.
