Students received their progress reports today!

Gordon Central High School's Apply to College Day is next Wednesday, November 16th. This day is always a huge success to get students started and completing applications. Last year, there were 114 applications started, 97 completed and 91 submitted. Over 50 students completed FAFSA during that time as well. Let's improve on those numbers and get ready for postsecondary education!
For the month of November, the Georgia Student Finance Commission and Georgia colleges and universities are working together to waive college application fees. You can read more about the press release here: https://gsfc.georgia.gov/november-1-2022

Senior Spotlight!

To honor the hard-working faculty at Gordon Central, the football team has selected a staff member to serve as an honorary team captain for our home football game this week again Murray County.
The selected captain, will be invited to the pregame meal, get a behind the scenes tour of pregame routines, have sideline access to the game, be recognized over the PA, and walk out with the captains for coin toss.
Like previous weeks, the tough part is selecting one person from such a great group of professionals! Your dedication to our young people is both respected and appreciated!!
This week we had 5 teachers and staff members nominated. One was ultimately selected…..
So at this time, we are proud to announce that the home-game #5:
Gridiron Captain of the Week goes to Verdy Jocelyn!!
