Congratulations to Gordon Central High School for being recognized by Superintendent Richard Woods and the Georgia Department of Education as a 2024 AP Honor School. Gordon Central is also recognized on the AP Access and Support List for schools with at least 30% of AP exams taken by students who identified as African American and/or Hispanic (minimum of 16 students) and 30% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher. Good Evening Warriors, Thank you for another great day at Gordon Central High School. I sincerely appreciate all of our students who are doing such a great job adhering to our dress code policy. I have had the opportunity to speak with many of our students during class Friday and today to explain to them the importance of this measure, and I want to reiterate that this evening. Like all of you, I want Gordon Central to be the very best it can be, and that starts with ensuring that we present the best image of ourselves and follow the rules set forth by the district. Beginning tomorrow, we will ask teachers to specifically check for dress code violations. Any student found to be out of compliance will be disciplined accordingly. Please assist us in eliminating those referrals by ensuring that students follow the dress code standards we have communicated the last couple of days and sent to families last night in both email and text message. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and GO Warriors! Dr. Amy Parker Principal

Good evening Warrior Nation! I wanted to thank everyone for a great first day back on Friday. It was good to see all of our students back in the building to begin our spring semester. As we enter our first full week, I wanted to take the opportunity to remind students of some specific pieces of the dress code policy to ensure they comply. Below is a list of some of the items we will be enforcing: Leggings, yoga pants, and similar clothing must have an outer garment that covers the torso to the top of the thigh. SKIRTS, DRESSES, SHORTS, and garments with holes or tears must show no skin higher than 5 inches above the knee. PANTS must be on the natural waistline with no sagging. No sleepwear, loungewear-type garments are permitted. The area from the neck to the shoulder must be covered. No low-cut necklines are permitted. Mid-drifts must be covered while standing, walking, or sitting. No head coverings, hats, caps, or hoods are permitted. Apparel with any reference to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, sexual or vulgar remarks, racism, or any kind of gang affiliation is not permitted. For a complete description of the Gordon County Schools' Dress Code Policy, visit https://www.gcbe.org/o/gcs/page/student-handbook. Thank you for helping Gordon Central always put its best image forward. I look forward to seeing all of our students back at school tomorrow morning.
