This morning students at Gordon Central participated in the annual Sources of Strength training. The mission of SOS is to provide the highest quality evidence-based prevention for suicide, violence, bullying and substance abuse by training, supporting, and empowering both peer leaders and caring adults to impact their world through the power of connection, hope, help and strength.

Seniors who plan to attend a four-year college may need to take the ACT or SAT (Many colleges are waiving this requirement for 2023 graduates, but this must be confirmed with individual colleges and universities.). Test prep information as well as links to the ACT and SAT can be found on the Counseling page of the Gordon Central website. Students will need Gordon Central’s School Code when they register; it is 110553. Test fee waivers are available for students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. For additional information regarding fee waivers, see Dr. Clance in the Front Office.
The deadline to register for the Dec. 10 ACT is Nov. 4. The ACT will also take place Feb. 11, Apr. 15, June 10, and July 15.
The deadline to register for the Dec. 3 SAT is Nov. 3. The SAT will also take place Mar. 11, May 6, and June 3.
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE WEEKEND
The University of North Georgia, one of six Senior Military Colleges in the nation, will be hosting a National Leadership Challenge Weekend November 4-6 for high school Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who are interested in learning about UNG’s Corps of Cadets.
