Good Evening Warriors, Thank you for another great day at Gordon Central High School. I sincerely appreciate all of our students who are doing such a great job adhering to our dress code policy. I have had the opportunity to speak with many of our students during class Friday and today to explain to them the importance of this measure, and I want to reiterate that this evening. Like all of you, I want Gordon Central to be the very best it can be, and that starts with ensuring that we present the best image of ourselves and follow the rules set forth by the district. Beginning tomorrow, we will ask teachers to specifically check for dress code violations. Any student found to be out of compliance will be disciplined accordingly. Please assist us in eliminating those referrals by ensuring that students follow the dress code standards we have communicated the last couple of days and sent to families last night in both email and text message. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and GO Warriors! Dr. Amy Parker Principal

Good evening Warrior Nation! I wanted to thank everyone for a great first day back on Friday. It was good to see all of our students back in the building to begin our spring semester. As we enter our first full week, I wanted to take the opportunity to remind students of some specific pieces of the dress code policy to ensure they comply. Below is a list of some of the items we will be enforcing: Leggings, yoga pants, and similar clothing must have an outer garment that covers the torso to the top of the thigh. SKIRTS, DRESSES, SHORTS, and garments with holes or tears must show no skin higher than 5 inches above the knee. PANTS must be on the natural waistline with no sagging. No sleepwear, loungewear-type garments are permitted. The area from the neck to the shoulder must be covered. No low-cut necklines are permitted. Mid-drifts must be covered while standing, walking, or sitting. No head coverings, hats, caps, or hoods are permitted. Apparel with any reference to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, sexual or vulgar remarks, racism, or any kind of gang affiliation is not permitted. For a complete description of the Gordon County Schools' Dress Code Policy, visit https://www.gcbe.org/o/gcs/page/student-handbook. Thank you for helping Gordon Central always put its best image forward. I look forward to seeing all of our students back at school tomorrow morning. A Message from Dr. Amy J. Parker, Principal: I hope this message finds you well and that you enjoyed a restful Christmas break. As we prepare for the start of a new semester, I want to share some important reminders and updates to ensure a smooth transition back to school. Our campus is starting its transformation as the remodel is well underway, promising a refreshed and vibrant atmosphere for our students. We are excited for our students to see the progress, and we look forward to the positive impact these changes will have on our school community. To ensure a focused and respectful learning environment as we move into a new semester, I'd like to remind students that hats and blankets should be left at home or in students' vehicles. Additionally, we will be renewing our focus on dress code, with reminders provided on Friday to reinforce our expectations. Your support in ensuring that students adhere to the dress code is greatly appreciated. In line with maintaining a focused classroom environment, we will also be asking that all students either place their cell phones in a provided spot in the classroom or keep them securely stored in their bags each day, during classtime. This measure aims to minimize distractions and create a more conducive learning environment. I want to express my gratitude for your ongoing support. Together, we can foster a positive and enriching educational experience for all our students. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the school! Wishing you and your family a wonderful start to the new year!  I look forward to seeing all of our students back on campus tomorrow morning.

This Christmas season, Gordon Central High School had the incredible opportunity to spread joy and warmth by reviving the event, "Shop With a Warrior," in collaboration with Tolbert, Swain, and Belwood Elementary schools! 🌟🎁 Our faculty, staff, and students are incredibly blessed to have been part of this heartwarming event, and witnessing the generosity and compassion of our students who stepped up to help their little shoppers was truly inspiring. 💙 Just like the Grinch's heart grew three sizes, we witnessed the magic of the season touch the hearts of our students as they shared the joy of giving with their younger peers. 📚💖 This experience is a testament to the spirit of kindness and community that makes Gordon Central High School truly special. Thank you to everyone who contributed and made "Shop With a Warrior" a memorable and impactful event! Let's continue spreading love and cheer this holiday season! 🎅 #ShopWithAWarrior #GCHSHolidayMagic #WarriorKindness #CommunityLove
