Congratulations to Rylan Wyatt, AMS 7th grade student, for winning the Young Georgia Authors Competition at the district level! Her writing piece will proceed to the region level competition.
The YGA competition is one of Georgia’s most prestigious opportunities for young writers. For more than two decades, it has encouraged students across the state to develop enthusiasm for writing, strengthen their craft and celebrate their accomplishments in the arts and academics.

Ashworth Middle School has an inspiring bulletin board on display that encourages students to get involved, make a difference, and be extraordinary. It is a great reminder that every student has unique talents and interests that can make a positive impact in their school and community.
We encourage all students to discover what they are passionate about and explore new opportunities to get involved. Hobbies can grow into careers, and Gordon County Schools offers a wide range of clubs, athletics, and career pathways to help students find their path.

They rotated through stations including gem mining, erosion simulation, and learning how water shapes landforms in Georgia. They wrapped the day up with a planetarium show about Stars. ⭐️
