Mrs. Rice's seventh-grade math class learned the new concepts of adding and subtracting integers through hands-on instruction. The students were given thirty, two-sided colored chips to add and subtract integers with multiple problems that were picked randomly. This is an example of what the students discovered before the integer rules were taught:
(+3)+(−2)=1 → three yellow, two red → cancel two pairs → one yellow left.
(−4)−(+2)=−6 → start with four red → need to take away two yellow, so add zero pairs → take away the yellow → six red left.

Ashworth Middle School computer science teacher Matt Wiley had his students working on some really cool projects today! Students were creating clues about a country or major city for others to be able to solve within 20 yes or no questions. This ranged from multiple facts about their location, such as geographic location, landmarks, climates, culture, and more!
Students were also learning about A.I. and how accurate it can be discovering locations with just a few clues. The students were having a great time working together and getting ready to present! #ExtraordinaryGCS #ExtraordinaryAMS

Congratulations to our girls and boys upon finishing 3rd in a 5 way golf match yesterday!
Mackayla Hallman led the girls with a 63. Tessa Morgan, Avery Wiley and Charlee Young did a great job in their 1st match ever! Graycin Thomas led the boys with a 48. Brantley Baker carded a 56, Caleb Silvers 57, Silas Watson 62. Good job to Julius King, Rhys Floyd, and Caylon Pass on their 1st match ever.
