
AMS Events of the Week: March 21-26


Digital Learning Day - Friday, March 18


Please join me in congratulating your AMS 6th Grade Chorus on their STRAIGHT SUPERIOR ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation. They were evaluated by three judges in performance and one in sight reading, and all judges gave them highest marks. We are so proud of these students! Please also congratulate student teacher, Ms. Sheryl Caycho, on her wonderful work with this ensemble.



The Ashworth Middle School 7th and 8th grade band traveled to Woodland High School to perform two selections for the "Large Group Performance Evaluation". The band had received three Superior ratings from three judges for the selected pieces and another Superior rating for sight reading! The students had worked very hard the last three months to prepare for this performance. If you see one of these students, be sure to congratulate them on a job well done!


Please join me in congratulating your AMS Festival Singers (7th/8th combined chorus) on their STRAIGHT SUPERIOR ratings at District 7 North Large Group Performance Evaluation. They were evaluated by three judges on their two prepared pieces and one judge on an eight-measure sight reading, and all judges gave them highest marks. We are so proud of these students!




The AMS Jr. Tome Society travelled to the University of North Georgia-Gainesville for the TomeCon student literacy conference on Tuesday, March 15. Students enjoyed meeting authors and participated in some awesome workshops. #tomecon2022





Our Boy's and Girl's Track team completed well at their first meet of the season at home! Highlights include Lane Bailey placing 2nd place in Shot Put (29'4'') and Discus(73'7''). Aiden Fletcher placed 3rd in the Shot Put (28'1''). Gentry Allen placed 3rd place in the 1600m run with a time of 6:02. Strong performances by Alex Fraire, Edgar Valencia, and Thomas Spence.
On the girl's side, Kacee Cochran won the Discus Throw (47'11''). Allorah Long set a new PR in the Long Jump with distance of 10'7''. Strong performances and finishes for Lilly Dooley, Brielle Miles, and Catherine DeFoor.
Our next meet will be our invitational on March 26 at 9:30. Great job to all of our Warriors!

Gordon County middle schools will participate in spring assessments during the months of April and May. To ensure that iPads are available, updated to the latest iOS version, and charged for testing, all middle school students will turn in their iPads by Monday, March 28, 2022. Once returned, iPads will remain in classrooms for the duration of the school year, and students will continue to use their iPads while at school.



Free Sports Physicals for 6th and 7th graders on Friday, April 1st. Pick up a form from Coach Lawson or Ms. Stutts.

Ashworth Middle School is proud to announce that McKenna Massengale has been selected as our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. Congratulations!


It was a great day for Ashworth golf on Thursday! Ashworth represented well at Spring Lakes match vs. Dalton. Tripp Morgan was the low medalist of the match. Micah Wills and Carson Sage tied for the 2nd best score for the Team.
