Tolbert Elementary School recognizes Esther DeHaro as the 2024- 2025 Teacher of the Year. Esther is currently teaching second grade and has served in a leadership role for several years. Esther DeHaro was nominated by a peer because she exhibits the following qualities:
"Esther may not be your typical Teacher of the Year candidate- she is not loud, outspoken, or widely known all over the school- BUT there is a quiet magic that happens every day in her classroom. Her classroom runs like a well-oiled machine. I genuinely believe her classroom could run itself without her presence. Her students would continue with their daily routine because that is the level of responsibility and consistency that she has instilled in her students. Her classroom is calm and quiet and a place where every student thrives. Esther sets high expectations for her students and works tirelessly to provide scaffolds for them so that they meet these expectations. The magic in her classroom really isn't magic at all- it's Esther. I am thankful to work in a building with steady, committed, and consistent teachers like Esther DeHaro."
