National Scholarships:

Elks Lodge Most Valuable Student Scholarship: MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university next school year. Some important applicant details include: Must be a current high school senior, applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks and male and female students compete separately.  The application deadline is November 12, 2024. Hagan Scholarship: The scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients “regardless of nationality” with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship: The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides a multi-faceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of students who aspire to attend college but to guide them through the process of higher education. U.S. Department of Agriculture- The USDA 1890 National scholarship program offers several scholarships for high school seniors. The application deadline is March 1, 2025. GEICC Scholarship: Applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the state of Georgia, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and pursuing a STEM career. The application deadline is March 9, 2025. P.U.L.L. Movemenet Scholarship: We are offering a scholarship with a $2,000 cash award, coupled with four professional counseling sessions. The only criteria to apply is the student must be a senior, with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and identify as a member of the human race. The application deadline is November 30, 2024. North Georgia EMC Scholarship: The NGEMC Chairman’s Memorial Scholarship is offered to high school seniors who live with an NGEMC member. The $2,500 scholarship is awarded to one senior in each of the seven counties served by NGEMC. The application deadline is January 17, 2025. Georgia Foundation for Agriculture Scholarships: The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture strives to provide students with an opportunity for success as they pursue agriculture-related courses of study. There are several scholarship opportunities available to students, each with varying criteria and eligibility requirements. The application deadline is March 1, 2025. Family Savings Credit Union- The C.V. Glassco Memorial Scholarship is now open to high school seniors in Georgia counties: Bartow, Floyd, Gordon, Paulding, and Polk. With four $3,000 scholarships available, including opportunities for two-year institutions and certifications, you could be one step closer to achieving your dreams. Geneva Parsons Scholarship- The Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is offering the Geneva Parsons Scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a graduating senior from each of the public high schools in the community who plan to pursue a career in Education. BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship- BBB of Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia will award scholarships to students graduating in the class of 2025. Judges will select the scholarship recipients based on their overall personal integrity and character, their personal achievements, contributions to their communities and schools, and academic accomplishments. Calhoun Woman's Club Scholarship- The Calhoun Woman’s Club is excited to learn about you and to show our support for your future plans. We want to help a student who wants to serve their community, needs assistance, and has the drive to receive a degree. This scholarship is based primarily on community service, need, and academic drive. This year the scholarship award is $1,000. The application deadline is March 29, 2025. Gordon County Foundation/Harold Hughes Scholarship- Scholarships will be awarded to students at SHS and GCHS.  Selections will be based on academic performance, extracurricular participation, and financial need.  These scholarships are funded by payroll contributions of the employees of Gordon County Schools.  Application must be completed electronically and printed.  Handwritten copies will not be accepted.The application deadline is April 4, 2025. Fantasy Factory Scholarship- The Community Foundation of NWGA is proud to partner with the Fantasy Factory in offering the Fantasy Factory Scholarship, an incredible opportunity for students dreaming of a career in graphic arts. This scholarship awards $3,000 to one talented student pursuing a college degree in graphic arts or a related field and is open to all high school seniors in the Northwest Georgia area. Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful Scholarship- Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful will award up to five scholarships, with a minimum of $500 each, to students from Gordon County who have volunteered at our events or have otherwise demonstrated an exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability and/or community beautification. Calhoun-Gordon County Retired Educators Association: The Calhoun-Gordon County Retired Educators will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing a career in education. Criteria required for selection: academic achievement, school & community involvement, clearly defined goals with definite plans to become an educator, and a need for this scholarship. Calhoun Elks Lodge Scholarship: See Mrs. Farmer for the application. You do not have to be affiliated with the Elks Lodge to apply. Applications are due to the Mrs. Farmer by April 15, 2025.

Gordon County Chamber Scholarship- The selection committee for the scholarship will consider the following when reviewing applications: Activities in school, involvement in the community, career goals, financial need, work experience, interview and essay. Maurice M Simmons Scholarship- The Maurice M. Simmons Scholarship, sponsored annually by Victory Fellowship Center, was established to fulfill the ministry’s vision of providing financial support for graduating high school seniors of Gordon County. For 2025, two general scholarships in the amounts of $1,500 and $1000 and one nursing scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded. The application deadline is April 15, 2025. Thomas Brown Scholarship: The Calhoun-Gordon County Alumni Bulldog, Inc. is sponsoring the Thomas Brown Scholarship for seniors who have been accepted to and plan to attend the University of Georgia. The application deadline is April 16, 2025. Kiwanis Club Calhoun/Gordon Co. Scholarship: The Kiwanis Club of Calhoun/Gordon County, Georgia awards scholarships to college-bound High School seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, a student’s community service record, and financial need. Melanie Vaughn Memorial Scholarship- Melanie Vaughn shared the light of Christ and passion for kids through her work in the nursing field. To honor Melanie’s life, work, and volunteerism, one Sonoraville High School student, who intends to pursue a career in the field of nursing, will be presented with an educational scholarship in the amount of $500.
