The Gordon Central Library Advisory students had a goal this school year of establishing a Little Free Library in the community. Mrs. Pruitt, the Library Group Advisor, contacted Craig Sparks, Director of the Gordon County Parks & Recreation Department, to see if he would be interested in bringing a Little Free Library to one of the parks. Mr. Sparks was very supportive, and a plan was created to establish the Little Free Library in Ooky Faith Memorial Park. The proposal had to be approved by the Gordon County Commissioners. After approval, Mr. Dooley and the Construction students built the library with donations from the Calhoun Home Depot. The Library Advisory students helped with book donations. The library was dedicated on April 27th and the details for the library can be found on the Little Free Library app and website. https://littlefreelibrary.org. Little Free Libraries operate on the premise of "take a book - leave a book".
