JROTC

Congratulations to our GCHS JROTC program which has been awarded the Honor Unit with Distinction for the 2023-2024 school year!

An Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD) is one that has demonstrated exceptional performance in all areas of program operation. To be awarded this rating, the JROTC program must score between 90-100% on the annual Unit Report, and 95-100% on the JROTC Program of Accreditation.

The Gordon Central High School JROTC earned this honor during the JROTC

Program for Accreditation (JPA) as evaluated by an inspection team led by Mr. Willie Burton, 6th BDE JROTC Operations on Thursday, March 14, 2024. The JROTC Cadets were evaluated in the following areas:

Battalion Staff Continuous Improvement Briefing & Interview

Service Learning Briefing

Cadet Portfolios and Interviews

Unit Report

Drill

Color Guard

The Gordon Central High School JROTC program received a 97.50% score on the overall JPA evaluation! A numerical score of 195 out of possible 200!

A score of at least 95% is required to earn HUD. Programs can either earn a rating of HUD, Proficient, or Unsatisfactory. And, once again, GCHS received HUD (an Honor Unit with Distinction).

The Cadets did a fantastic job led by our leadership team consisting of COL (R) Wallace E. Steinbrecher and SFC (R) John Windom.

These Warriors have worked very hard every day collecting data, creating slides, charts, and presenting their Continuous Improvement Plan briefing and Service Learning Projects.

Congratulations to our GCHS JROTC program for all their hard work!
