DID YOU KNOW: Gordon County Schools has a 1:1 technology ratio for both our students and our staff.
Recently, the 1st graders at Tolbert Elementary, an Apple Distinguished School, were among the first GCS students to receive the brand new student iPads with a keyboard and track pad.
Our Technology Department is continuing to roll-out and assign the new iPads to all GCS students.

Last night at the Gordon County Schools Board of Education meeting, board members discussed the tentative budget for the 2022-2023 school year.
The information below highlights some of the changes proposed for the upcoming school year in addition to highlighting many of the changes implemented during the current academic year.

Sonoraville High School’s wrestling program had three individual champions at the GHSA State Traditional Tournament held in Macon, February of this year.
At the May Board Meeting, the Class 3 A State Champions from Sonoraville High were recognized for their achievements on the mat. Joining the Gordon County Board of Education for the recognition were: Sonoraville High Wrestling Coach Randy Steward, 285 Pound Weight Class State Title winner Jaxx Knight, 195 Pound Weight Class State Title winner Jebb Knight and 170 Pound Weight Class State Title winner Colt Weaver.
Congratulations to these gentlemen and their Coach on this outstanding achievement!

Gordon Central High School Senior, Dean Rice, has been in the GCHS work-based learning program and worked at Gordon Building Supply for 2 years.
Dean has completed the Welding pathway and plans to further his education in construction at a technical college.
Dean also represents Gordon Central in the (AHSBA) Amateur High School Bass Anglers fishing tournament series.

The Gordon County Board of Education will hold a public meeting on the budget, for school year 2022-2023, on May 9, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. at the Gordon County College and Career Academy, 305 Beamer Road, Calhoun, Georgia.
