Thank you to the Chattanooga Food Bank for supporting Gordon County Schools with food for nearly 500 student families during spring break. They brought a truck yesterday and unloaded canned foods, pastas, peanut butter, and other essential foods that will feed our community while school is out.
In Georgia, 1,156,660 people are facing hunger--and of them 335,720 are children. That means 1 in 8 children face hunger. The Chattanooga Food Bank has gone above and beyond to help us feed families, and we are grateful for this important partnership. Nearly 500 boxes were packed with food!
Central Office staff worked to pack these boxes, which are being sent out to the schools and students prior to the break. Thanks to everyone who was a part of this process to serve Gordon County Schools students. Together We Thrive!
