Calhoun, GA - Gordon County Schools (GCS) is delighted to announce the return of an esteemed educator and leader, Dr. Rebecca Owen, who will be joining GCS as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Ashworth Middle School (AMS). Dr. Owen brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted connection to the school system, having previously served as a dedicated teacher at AMS from 2008 to 2019.
Having embarked on a transformative journey in education, Dr. Owen rejoins Gordon County Schools after a brief period of service as an educator, academic coach, and instructional specialist with Rome City Schools. Her invaluable experiences during this time have further enriched her expertise and honed her leadership skills, making her a valuable asset to the Ashworth Middle School community.
Throughout her tenure in education, Dr. Owen has demonstrated unwavering dedication, a passion for student growth, and an unyielding commitment to academic excellence. Her students and peers alike benefited from her innovative teaching methods and passionate approach to education, leaving a lasting impact on the school communities she has served. With an intimate knowledge of Ashworth Middle and the community it serves, Dr. Owen is well-positioned to collaborate with the faculty, staff, and students in implementing strategies that further enrich the academic programs and overall student experience.
