Calhoun, GA – Tonight, at a called board meeting, the Gordon County Schools Board of Education voted to unanimously approve the appointment of the next Superintendent of Gordon County Schools.
Alice Mashburn will officially begin her tenure as Superintendent on July 1. Mashburn has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Gordon County Schools since 2019. Before that role, she served in a multitude of positions including, Teacher, Media Specialist, Graduation Coach, Data Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Director of Technology, and Director of Human Resources.
Dr. Kimberly Fraker will continue to serve Gordon County Schools in an advisory capacity to support Ms. Mashburn during the transition to her new role.
