This is my fourth year as the Instruction Lead Teacher for Sonoraville High School. Prior to this, I have served as the high school literacy support specialist and worked with teachers at both Sonoraville and Gordon Central. Prior to coming to Gordon County, I taught English for 11 years at both the high school and middle school levels. I also served as the Yearbook advisor for three years. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for several years as a newspaper reporter in Albany, Georgia.
My husband, Brian, and I currently live in Bartow County and we have three children, Rachael (15), Brian (13), and Caitlin (6). I grew up in East Tennessee and love going home to the Smoky Mountains.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Liberty University and earned my Masters of Science in Literacy and Learning from Walden University. I also earned my Education Specialist degree from Walden in Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development.
