About Me:

This is Dr. Larson's fifth year at Ashworth. Before coming to Ashworth, Mr. Larson served as the Academy Coordinator of the Gordon County College and Career Academy from 2016 to 2020. Prior to working with Gordon County Schools, he worked as an ELA teacher and coach in Clearwater, Florida for 4 years. He holds a B.A. in Secondary English Education and an M.A. in Educational Leadership. He is committed to the vision of Ashworth and Gordon County Schools and desires to see students who are prepared for high school and beyond.

About Me:

I am excited to return to Ashworth Middle School and be the assistant principal!  I am a product of Gordon County Schools.  I attended Belwood Elementary, Ashworth Middle School, and Gordon Central High School (Class of 2001).  This is my nineteenth year in education!  I returned to teach at Ashworth Middle School in 2008. I taught seventh and eighth grade ELA for ten years at Ashworth, before becoming the literacy coach for Red Bud Middle School in 2018.  In 2021, I became the Instructional Lead Teacher at Red Bud Middle School!  

I am married to Bartt Gilreath, a teacher and coach for Gordon County Schools.  I also have a daughter, Ella Beth, who is an eighth grader enrolled in Gordon County Schools!
