Gordon County Schools is pleased to announce the new principals for the 2010-11 school year. Because of the system's foresight in building capacity among its leadership team members, all of these positions were filled by internal hires. It is with great confidence that these dedicated professionals are named to their new positions.

	Taking the helm of Gordon Central High School will be current Ashworth Middle School principal, Scott McClanahan.
	Replacing Mr. McClanahan at Ashworth Middle School will be current Gordon Central High School assistant principal, Marc Feuerbach.
	The new Tolbert Elementary School principal will be Sket Angland, who is currently serving as the assistant principal at Swain Elementary.
	Red Bud Elementary School will be led by its current assistant principal, Jenny Hayes.
	Kimm Smith will move from the assistant principal's position at Fairmount Elementary School to become the new principal
	Dr. Elizabeth Anderson will be promoted from assistant principal to principal at Sonoraville Elementary School.

On March 4th-6th, HOSA members from across the state of Georgia converged on Athens to compete for the distinction of representing the state at the National HOSA Conference at Disney World in June. Eighteen members of the SHS HOSA competed over the three days in various healthcare events. More...

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday, birthday cake was served with lunch in all Gordon County elementary schools. A Dr. Seuss book was given to a lucky student at each grade level in elementary schools. Pictured is 5th grader Madison Benton
