GORDON COUNTY SCHOOLS' FFA DOMINATES STATE CONVENTION

During FFA competition this spring, Gordon County Schools’ FFA Chapters were awarded several State Championships and runner-up positions, promoting many to represent the district in National competition in the fall. 

 

Gordon Central High Schools Chapter (pictured on top above) received:

·         Gold Chapter (top 15 chapters in the State)

·         100% membership

·         2nd in State Livestock Judging Senior

·         2nd in State Livestock Judging Junior

·         Area 1 Winner, State Finalist and 3rd place Proficiency in Environmental/Natural Resources - Carol-Ann Worsham

·         Area 1 Winner, State Finalist and 2nd place Proficiency in Grain Production Placement - Brady Carney

·         Agriscience - plant science division - 3rd Place State - Emily Seritt and Samantha Jordan

·         Agriscience - Environmental/Natural Resources - 2nd Place State - Lacey Hickman and Savannah Duvall

·         Agriscience - Social Systems - State Winner - Amara White

·         Agriscience - Mechanical and Technical Systems - State Winners - Carol-Ann Worsham and Isaac Worsham

·         State FFA Degree Recipients were:

o   Garrett Dodd

o   Lason Hefner

o   Logan Hefner

o   Kamara Anderson

o   Drew Sewell

·         Courtesy Corp Recipients were:

o   Garrett Dodd

o   Jacob Freeman

FFA State Convention Ambassador- Amara White

Ashworth Middle School was also awarded the 100% Membership Award

Sonoraville High School’s Chapter (pictured with the RBMS Chapter in the bottom photo above) walked away with:

·         Brooklyn Carr and Gracy Sexton – first place Agriscience in Animal Systems

·         Annalies Carr – first place Agriscience in Plant Systems

·         Deanna Hernandez and Hogan Smith – 2nd place Agriscience in Plant Systems

·         Agriculture Education Ambassador – Alex Wofford

·         Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship – Brooklyn Carr

·         Food Bank Challenge – 1st in state

·         Robbie Arnold – first place in state – Beef Production Entrepreneurship

·         Caleb Carr – 3rd place in state – Diversified Grain Production

Red Bud Middle School was awarded:

·         -100% Membership Award

·         Joshua Carr (RBMS FFA President) 7th grade:

-3rd in state for Junior Prepared Public Speaking

·         Bethany Champion, 7th grade:

-Middle School Record Book Gold Finalist for Specialty/Small Animal Production

·         Hunter Petty, 6th grade:

-Middle School Record Book Gold Finalist for Production Agriculture
